The short answer: hearts, envelopes with letters, and cupid arrows are the classic Valentine’s makes. You only need red, pink, white, and a little brown and yellow to cover almost any design.
Valentine’s projects are small, fast, and perfect for gifts and classroom swaps. A set of tiny hearts in different shades makes a great homemade card topper.
Best small makes
- Hearts: the classic pixel heart, 10×10 or smaller. Make a gradient set from dark red to pink.
- Envelope with letter: a white square, folded flaps, and a tiny red heart seal.
- Cupid arrow: a straight arrow with a heart-shaped tip, about 20 beads long.
- Love letters: pixel letters spelling LOVE or a name, one board per letter.
- Rose: a spiral of red beads with a green stem below.
Build and finish
- Keep pieces small so they finish in one sitting and survive being handled.
- Iron both sides fully; gift pieces get passed around a lot.
- Turn hearts into magnets with a glued magnet on the back, or keychains with a split ring.
- Cool flat under a book before packaging.
