How to Make 3D Halloween Perler Beads

The short answer: Halloween has three easy 3D builds: a pumpkin made of two orange discs pressed into a squashed ball with a green stem, a ghost made of two white panels on a base, and a bat with wings that bend. All use the one-sided melt.

These are the best projects for October evenings with kids. Each one takes under an hour, and none of them needs complex curved seams.

The three classics

  • Pumpkin: two orange discs, about 12 by 12, ironed one-sided and pressed together into a flattened sphere. Add a green stem disc and a face cut into the front.
  • Ghost: two white panels in a wavy outline, ironed one-sided, glued to a U-shaped base. Simple face glued on the front.
  • Bat: one body panel with wing panels on both sides, ironed one-sided. Bend the wings slightly upward while warm so the bat looks like it is flying.
  • Skull: a small cube with a face, using the cube technique from our beginner guide.

Display ideas

  • Centerpiece: cluster pumpkins and ghosts on a tray with a few orange beads as scattered leaves.
  • Hanging bats: glue a loop of black beads to the top of the bat and hang from the ceiling.
  • Window ledge: ghosts stand on any sill and catch the light.
  • Give them to trick-or-treaters: small pumpkins make great non-candy treats.

All four builds use the panel, base, and one-sided melt techniques from our 3D patterns guide, and Halloween grids are in the pattern library. Beads, boards, and paper are in our shop.
