Beads are never really leftover; they are waiting for the right project. If you have more than you will use, the options below put them to good use and keep them out of the trash.
Best options
- Donate: classrooms, library craft tables, scout troops, and daycare centers use beads constantly. Call ahead and ask if they take craft donations.
- Trade: local beading groups and online communities swap color lots. Someone else needs the color you are tired of.
- Give to friends: a small jar of beads makes a thoughtful gift for a crafty friend or their kids.
- Keep for small projects: keychains, earrings, and mini patterns use exactly the few beads per color you have left.
- Send to recycling: only as a last resort, and only loose beads, after checking local rules as in our recycling guide.
