How to Make Perler Bead Flowers

Flowers are a favorite because they teach shape-building without a grid pattern. You place beads around a center point, and the design grows outward naturally.

Flat flower

1. Place a center bead, then build a ring of six petals around it, one bead wide.
2. Add a second ring of slightly larger petals behind the first for depth.
3. Iron both sides and cool flat under a book.
4. Use two colors per petal pair for a striped tulip look.

3D bloom

1. Build five identical petal panels, each about 10 beads tall.
2. Iron each panel on one side only, keeping it flexible.
3. Curve the panels and fuse the side edges together, one pair at a time.
4. Add a bead center or a fused yellow disc at the top.
